Sheffield United have suspended goalkeeper Paddy Kenny after confirming the player failed a drugs test.
No specific details have emerged into what substance the Irish shot-stopper has tested positive for.
Kenny was taking part in a programme organised by UK Sport - the agency responsible for drug testing in sport.
A Sheffield United spokesman said: "We can confirm that Paddy Kenny has been suspended by the club.
"This is an ongoing, confidential matter and as such we are unable to comment further."
Kenny provided a positive drugs test for ephedrine - a restricted substance that is found in over-the-counter cough medicines - following last season's Championship play-off semi-final victory over Preston North End.
