New Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane has laid down his ambition to be promoted to the Premier League next season.
The former Sunderland boss was today named as Jim Magilton's successor as the club's manager, signing a two-year deal.
Keane left Sunderland last December when he walked out on the Black Cats following a sudden loss of form.
The 37-year-old, who takes over with the Tractor Boys facing an eighth successive season in the Championship, told his first press conference he was "excited and looking forward" to his new role.
"I'm ready for it," he told reporters.
"I just have a gut feeling," he continued. "It will be a massive challenge to get the club back into the Premier League... but I'll try and do it in one year, that's the challenge."
Although he admitted that there would be "a lot [of players] coming through", Keane insisted that all he was asking from Ipswich's current squad was "to turn up on time for training and give 100 per cent".
"It's not a case of saying they have two games to prove themselves," the Irishman added.
