Four-piece group Kandy Rain have become the first act voted off the 2009 series of The X Factor, after the first live show.
The quartet were given their marching orders following a sing-off with solo act Rachel Adedeji as the ITV1 show moved into the live stages.
Former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke performed her new single Bad Boys on the programme on Sunday night while Robbie Williams - who mentored contestants this week - made his first UK appearance in three years to sing new track Bodies.
Kandy Rain and Adedeji had split the judges, with Simon Cowell sending the vote to 'deadlock' when he opted to save the girlband, saying they had not been given a "fair crack".
The former lap dancers had been criticised by judges Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue for their outfits during their Saturday night performance of Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love.
But after it was revealed Kandy Rain had received the lowest number of public votes, the foursome became the first act to leave the live stage.
Sunday night's edition of The X Factor also saw Minogue apologise for commenting on the sexuality of show favourite Danyl Johnson during the Saturday show.
