AC Milan star Kaka has distanced himself from rumours he could be set to join Manchester City this month, saying he wants to remain in Italy for years to come.
The Brazilian international finished as runner-up behind Cristiano Ronaldo in the Fifa world player of the year voting on Monday - one year after he won the award himself.
And despite reports earlier today that he was considering a £91 million transfer to cash-rich City during the current transfer window, Kaka has now spoken out to quash the rumours.
"I want to grow old at Milan," he said.
"My aim is to become, at some point in the future, the captain of this team. I know there is a pecking order, with [Paolo] Maldini at the front and [Massimo] Ambrosini - but after that, maybe."
Kaka also revealed it was not the first time Milan had been approached over a big-money move for him, but that he had opted to remain at the San Siro in the past and would continue to do so.
"I have already turned down some major offers," the 26-year-old added.
Despite their lack of success in convincing Kaka to trade Serie A for the Premier League, City are still thought to be on the trail of some of the world's top-rated players.
Manager Mark Hughes is being linked with a host of targets, including Blackburn Rovers forward Roque Santa Cruz and Valencia striker David Villa.
