The representatives of Brazilian star Kaka have been given permission to speak to Manchester City over his possible transfer from AC Milan.
According to various reports, Kaka's spokesman Diogo Kotscho has confirmed that the Rossoneri are considering a monumental bid, believed to be in the region of 120 million (£107 million).
And despite Kaka earlier this week stating he does not want to leave the San Siro, the player's father Bosco Leite is set to negotiate over personal terms with the cash-rich Eastlands outfit.
"Milan has authorised negotiations with Manchester City," Kotscho told the Associated Press news agency.
"The next step now is that Kaka's father will eventually talk to Manchester City."
Italian media are reporting that Kaka's head could be turned by the huge sums of money on offer to him and his family, with the Brazilian playmaker's father due to pocket an estimated 35 million (£31 million) from the deal.
But Kotscho said it was "an exaggeration" to close to being completed either way.
If the published figures are correct and Kaka chooses to move clubs this month then the transfer fee would dwarf the current world record of £46 million, which took French forward Zinedine Zidane from Juventus to Real Madrid in 2001.
