Everton's Aussie star Tim Cahill is a £7 million target for Manchester United. Ferguson is widely-known to be in the market for a midfielder and with Spurs' Carrick rejecting his overtures, Cahill has jumped to the top of his wanted list.
Joey Barton looks set to replace Cahill with Toffees boss Moyes offering Manchester City £3 million for the want-away midfielder.
