Sussex and England batsman Ed Joyce has put pen to paper on a new contract to keep him at Hove until the end of the 2012 season.
The left-hander had a successful first season with the club since leaving Middlesex, scoring 945 first-class runs - including three centuries - at an average of 41.08 as Sussex enjoyed a successful limited-overs campaign.
The county won last season's Twenty20 Cup and NatWest Pro40, as well as reaching the final of the Friends Provident Trophy at Lord's.
And Joyce said he was more than happy to sign a new deal.
"I've really enjoyed my first year at the club and have settled into the team and life on the south coast really well," he said.
"The team had great success this year in the one-day arena. When I was offered a contract extension, I jumped at the chance and am very much looking forward to the next few years at Sussex."
Sussex captain Mike Yardy added: "Ed had a magnificent first season at the club and performed particularly well in the one-day form of the game.
"He is a great asset to the club and will play a vital role in getting Sussex back in the first division."
Since making his England debut against Ireland - the country of his birth - in 2006, Joyce has gone on to play 17 one-day internationals for his adopted nation.
However, his last cap came in 2007 against Sri Lanka during a dismal World Cup campaign for England and he has not yet earned a recall to the international fold.
