First-team coach Joe Jordan has ended his four-year stint at Portsmouth Football Club with immediate effect and is expected to join Tottenham Hotspur.
The 56-year-old joined Pompey in the summer of 2004 after being appointed to the backroom staff by former manager Harry Redknapp.
And it is rumoured that Jordan is keen to continue working with Redknapp, who left Fratton Park to take the management post vacated by Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane two weeks ago.
Jordan has spent the majority of his time on the south coast in a coaching capacity, although he was named caretaker manager following Redknapp's controversial departure for Southampton in 2004.
The Scot also adopted a similar role when it was confirmed that Redknapp had joined Spurs last month.
But after being passed up for the permanent manager's post in favour of fellow coach Tony Adams, he looks set to follow his former boss to north London.
Announcing Jordan's departure, Portsmouth said: "Portsmouth Football Club would like to thank Joe for his significant contribution during four successful years at Fratton Park and wish him well for the future.
"Blues manager Tony Adams is hoping to unveil his new team of coaching staff next week."
It has already emerged that Adams unsuccessfully approached former Arsenal colleague Martin Keown about a coaching role with Portsmouth.
And rumours suggest the ex-Gunners captain is keen to bring in another former team-mate - Dutchman Dennis Bergkamp - to work with the club's strikers.
