Iran has test-fired a long-range missile, state TV reports.
The reported test comes after Tehran launched two short-range missiles during the weekend.
The latest missile, a Shahab-3, is reported to have a range of up to 2,000km, meaning it could reach Israel and American bases in the Gulf region.
The missile launches comes amid rising tensions with the west.
During the G20 summit last week, the leaders of Britain, France and the United States roundly condemned Iran for the construction of a second uranium enrichment plant.
The five permanent members of the United States security council are set to meet with representatives from Iran on Thursday to discuss Tehran's nuclear programme.
US president Barack Obama has urged Iran to be totally honest at the talks and set-out the exact extent of its nuclear ambitions.
Gordon Brown has also warned of further sanctions if Iran continues to "deceive" the UN over its ambitions.
Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has continually denied the west's claims Tehran is attempting to develop a nuclear arsenal, claiming instead it is simply trying to create a peaceful domestic energy source.
