The father of the 12-year-old girl from the Scottish Western Islands whose decision to run away from her mother sparked a national police hunt has been granted temporary custody of his daughter.
Misbah Iram Ahmed Rana, who is more commonly known as Molly Campbell, left Scotland without her mother's knowledge to travel to Pakistan to be with her father last month.
It later emerged that she took the decision herself and travelled with her older sister and she faced the media to dispel reports that she had been taken to Pakistan in order to partake in an arranged marriage.
And today, a civil court in the Pakistani city of Lahore granted her father, Sajad Ahmed Rana, temporary custody of Misbah until September 30th, having earlier allowed her to stay with him until today.
The court also passed a 48-hour protection order in regard to Misbah, who, according to her lawyers, is being harassed by the Pakistani authorities, reports from the city suggest.
Misbah's mother, Louise Campbell, is her daughter's legal guardian and is expected to fight her ex-husband for custody.
The youngster told reporters last month that she wanted to stay in Pakistan so that she could be with her siblings and be brought up in a Muslim environment.
Mr Rana added that his daughter had access to a phone and the internet and could contact her mother whenever she wanted.
