Injury threatens Mido future

Tottenham's on-loan striker Mido has admitted that his chances of a permanent deal with the club are being threatened by injury.
The Egyptian international completes his 18-month loan spell with the north London club at the end of this season but he hasn't played for three games with a groin injury and has now picked up a knee problem.
The new injury means that he might not play again for Spurs and he fears that not being on the pitch as the team try to qualify for the Champions League could scupper his chances of a new contract.
"It's an injury I've had for the last week and I tried my hardest to recover but couldn't," Mido said.
"Tottenham are still negotiating to keep me and I hope for that."
Mido's agent admitted recently that Spurs hadn't sealed a deal to keep the Egyptian at White Hart Lane next year and other clubs were interested in his services.
However, manager Martin Jol has maintained that Mido must stay fit to earn a permanent contract at the club so the latest injury undermines hopes for a deal.
"If it doesn't work out then it's not the end of the world, because if I'm not here next season I'll be playing at another club," Mido added.
Spurs must win their last two games to guarantee fourth spot in the Premiership but their route to the Champions League could be blocked if Arsenal win the tournament.
