The Renault team is confident that Romain Grosjean will be fit to race on Sunday, despite feeling unwell on Thursday.
The French rookie had to return to his hotel in Singapore to rest, to ensure he is well enough to take part in Friday's practice sessions.
Renault test driver Lucas di Grassi has been carrying out the FIA cockpit extraction tests as a precautionary measure, just in case he has to stand-in for Grosjean.
The Enstone-based team said they will decide whether Grosjean is fit enough to get behind the wheel tomorrow.
