One person has died and around 400 people have been injured after large aftershock hit China's Sichuan province, a fortnight after an earthquake.
Chinese state television has reported that some 70,000 houses have collapsed since the tremor, which was the strongest aftershock to have hit the province since a 7.9 quake caused the deaths of at least 60,000 people in Sichuan.
While the US Geological Survey measured the aftershock at 5.8 on the Richter scale, the state-run Xinhua news agency quoted the China National Seismic Network as measuring the tremor at 6.4.
According to the Associated Press news agency, the aftershock could be felt as far away as Beijing, some 800 miles away.
It followed the remarkable rescue of an 80-year-old man who had been trapped under a pillar for 11 days after the original earthquake.
Xiao Zhihu, who was partially-paralysed prior to the quake, was discovered in Mianzhu city on Friday, having been given food and water by his wife since being trapped by the tremor, according to the official China News Service.
The national water ministry reported on Sunday that 69 reservoirs are in danger of bursting while the military are to use explosives in an attempt to prevent an artificial lake in Tangjiashan from bursting, after it accumulated more than 100 million cubic metres of water.
