Police have confirmed bones found in bushes beside the M5 near Bristol are human.
The remains were found at a slip-road at junction 14 of the motorway on Monday, Avon and Somerset police report.
It is currently unknown how long the remains had been the roadside and police are still unable to confirm the age or sex.
Crime scene investigators are continuing their work at the scene, while uniformed officers conduct a search of the surrounding area.
The bones are expected to be removed later today for further examination.
The remains are said to include arm and leg bones, a pelvis and a skull.
Police said they were treating the discovery as "suspicious".
