Warrington Wolves once again lived up to their inconsistent tag as they were thrashed 40-16 by Hull KR in the big Super League match of the day.
The hero for Hull was Clint Newton, who secured a hat-trick of tries to overcome the newly-crowned Challenge Cup winners.
The match began even and it wasn't until two interceptions for the home side turned the game in their favour. In fact the overall scoreline tended to flatter Hull, who began the game disjointed and lacking fluency.
In the second half, however, Hull stepped up a gear. Leading 22-12 at the interval, Newton added two tries to the one he scored in the first half before Peter Fox sealed the win with a breakaway try.
The Wolves tried to keep pace with their opponents, but in the end had to give up the ghost after an exhausting 80 minutes of play.
