Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has blasted the referee for sending off David Dunn in his side's 2-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Midfielder Dunn was sent off for two bookable offences by Chris Foy, with even Sir Alex Ferguson admitting the dismissal was harsh.
A first-half from Cristiano Ronaldo puts the champions at the top of the Premier League table.
Hughes, whose side were unbeaten in their previous eight games, said the referee made a knee-jerk decision to send off Dunn at the start of the second half.
"There should have been a little bit of leeway, but after that it was very hard for us. We feel a little bit hard done by," Hughes told the BBC.
"It was never a booking - why didn't the assistant help the referee in that situation?
"Little things went away from us and we didn't quite get the run of the ball," added Hughes. We didn't have a chance to show the team we are.
"We showed glimpses of what we can do in the first half. Unfortunately, the game was taken away from us."
The result puts United three points clear of Arsenal, who clash with Reading tomorrow, while Rovers slip to seventh spot.
