Fulham midfielder Simon Davies says new manager Roy Hodgson has given the squad a lift since his arrival at the club.
The Cottagers have not won a game since beating Reading at the start of November and have slipped to second-from-bottom in the Premier League.
That run of results ended Lawrie Sanchez's reign at the club but Davies is sure Hodgson has the experience and knowledge to help the team move up the table.
He said: "Everyone's got confidence in the new manager. He seems to really know what he's talking about.
"With his CV he's got a lot of experience, there's a lot that we can learn and everyone's really excited to work with him."
Davies claims that there is always an upturn in results when a side gets a new manager because the players are trying extra hard to impress.
The Welshman thinks the same effect will occur with Hodgson in charge and that with his encouragement they can get themselves out of the relegation zone.
"It's been a difficult time for the manager to come in but we've got the second half of the season to look forward to and I feel that we've got enough in the squad, if we get it right, to get out of the situation," Davies added.
Hodgson lost his first game in charge against Chelsea yesterday and his task does not look like getting any easier.
The Cottagers' next two league games are also London derbies - away at West Ham United and at home to league leaders Arsenal.
