Wales centre Gavin Henson has admitted that his latest injury has all but ruled him out of the British Lions tour to South Africa.
Henson suffered ankle ligament damage during the Ospreys' EDF Energy Cup semi-final defeat to Gloucester last Saturday and is expected to be out of action between 4-6 weeks.
The 27-year-old felt his chances of putting on the red Lions jersey were "probably" over as he has become a "liability" when it came to injuries.
"The injury will probably rule me out of the Lions tour, to be honest," said Henson. "It will be a pretty brave decision to take me now as I'm probably a bit of a liability with the way I am with my injures. This season is probably a miss now."
Henson has had a stop-start career due to a number of injuries and the golden boy of Welsh rugby revealed he was finding it difficult to handle his latest setback. He also admitted that he has even contemplated early retirement due to his ongoing injury problems.
"It is a complete nightmare again, I can't believe my luck. I'm pretty down and depressed about it at the moment - maybe I'm cursed," said Henson.
"It is another difficult year. I've had an up and down last four years with injuries, and I haven't been consistent at all - it has been tough. It is hard to come back every time I'm injured. Everyone sees the press I get every time I get injured, it is tough for me and my family."
