Britain's Tim Henman is in deep trouble after falling two sets behind Russia's Dmitry Tursunov in his second round match at the French Open.

The British number three was trailing 6-3 6-2 when bad light halted play for the day at Roland Garros and Henman will have it all to do when play restarts tomorrow.

The match was scheduled to start at 15:00 BST but rain had affected play all day and Henman's match was delayed for three and a half hours.

Henman was eliminated from the Australian Open in January by Tursunov and the Russian once again dominated the encounter.

The 31-year-old was broken in the second game of the first set as Tursunov raced into a 3-0 lead.

Henman did get back into the match and held his service game for the rest of the first set but Tursunov was already too far ahead and he wrapped up the set inside 37 minutes.

Tursunov once again pressured Henman's service game at the start of the second, gaining an early break which brought a warning from the umpire for the Briton's language and gave Tursunov the upper hand.

Henman produced some of his best tennis of the match to level at 2-2 but in the fading light, Tursunov blew him away by winning four consecutive games to seal the second set before the umpires called an end to play.

The winner will face Argentine David Nalbandian in the third round.track
