Spiders set up home in boy's ear

Two spiders were found in Jesse's ear
A nine-year-old boy complaining of "Rice Krispies" sounds has discovered he had two spiders living inside his ear.

Jesse Courtney from Albany, Oregon, complained of snap, crackle and pop noises in his ear but his mother Diane had no idea what his local doctor would pull out when she took her son for a short medical examination.

Dr David Irvine pulled out the first spider, which was already dead, but the second needed a good dousing from the doctor before it was pulled out…alive.

Both spiders were said to be around the size of a pencil eraser.

"They were walking on my eardrums," said Jesse of the strange noises.

Luckily Jesse is not afraid of creepy crawlies and appears to be just like any other boy, indulging in the fact that his ear provided a home for the pair of arachnoids.

"It was real interesting. Two spiders in my ear - what next?" he said.

Schoolboy Jesse was given the now-dead spiders as a souvenir and has taken them to show his classmates in what is guaranteed to be a memorable, if bizarre, show-and-tell presentation.
