A priest has been attacked in what police have described as a faith-hate crime at his church in east London.
Canon Michael Ainsworth suffered cuts and bruises after being hit in the grounds of the St George-in-the-East church in Canon Street Road near Whitechapel.
Two Asian youths have been linked to the attack on the 57-year-old churchman. Police said they hurled insults at the clergyman as a third youth looked on.
The police said they were called to the incident at 7:00 GMT on March 5th.
An appeal for witnesses has been made.
