Electro-pop star Calvin Harris was thrown out of the X Factor studios last night after storming the stage during a set by controversial twins John and Edward Grimes.
As the twins, dubbed Jedward, rattled through their rendition of Under Pressure, Harris - a guest on X Factor sister show The Xtra Factor - jumped on to the stage brandishing a pineapple on his head in imitation of their infamous hairstyles.
After briefly pointing at his own bottom Harris leapt off the stage to be ejected from the studios.
A spokesman for the ITV1 show later said: "Apparently Calvin is a huge John and Edward fan but it's unacceptable to storm the stage whilst an act is performing."
Writing on his Twitter page, Harris said: "Was just thrown out of x factor for jumping onstage during Jedward with a pineapple on my head.
"At the end of the day, I had a pineapple on my head. Sorry if I caused anyone embarrassment. P.s I love Jedward."
He also later posted a link to the picture of the offending pineapple.
Journalist Grace Dent, who was sitting next to Harris before he stormed the stage, also wrote on her Twitter page: "on reflection my first inkling about Calvin should've been in makeup when he took a pineapple out of his bag, put it on his head and said...
"...in a loud Irish accent, 'I'm Jon and Edward!' and then put the pineapple away."
