West Ham have signed shot-stopper Gabor Kiraly on a two-week deal to ease a goalkeeping crisis.
The Hammers, who clash with London rivals Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, are expected to name Kiraly on the bench.
Kiraly, who signs from Championship side Crystal Palace, will cover for Robert Green following injuries to Roy Carroll and Jimmy Walker.
The deal for the 30-year-old runs until December 3rd but the east London side can extend the loan.
Hammers boss Alan Pardew said the deal will only be a short-term arrangement.
"Gabor has come in simply to help provide some cover while Roy and Jimmy recover from injury, and will ensure we have some experienced back-up for Robert Green this weekend," he said.
Meanwhile, striker Carlton Cole said he has not been asked for any tips about his former club ahead of the match.
"Well everyone knows what Chelsea is about - there are not many secrets about them - but if the Gaffer or the other lads want any specific tips about anyone I will obviously be happy to assist," he said.
"It is pretty hard to find weaknesses in that team, to be honest, they have been flying since they suffered defeat at Tottenham."
"They have got quality players for every position plus back-up so it's going to be a difficult test for us, but if we turn in a similar performance as we did against Arsenal then there is no reason why we can't cope with what they throw at us and give a bit back."
The Hammers will be looking to end their woeful away form which has seen them fail to win on their travels this season in all competitions.
