British Formula One sensation Lewis Hamilton believes that he is equipped to secure his third successive grand prix victory in France this weekend.
Currently leading the drivers' standings on 58 points - ten points ahead of McLaren team-mate and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso - Hamilton told BBC Five Live that he had enjoyed "very interesting experiences" at the Magny-Cours track previously.
The 22-year-old Hertfordshire-born talent described how he had endured a difficult time during the French leg of the GP2 championship last season after clashing with another car in the first race.
Despite starting from the back of the grid during last year's race, the eventual GP2 winner described how he had managed to overtake a number of opponents and eventually secure fifth place.
Displaying a knowledge of the Magny-Cours course which he has previous experience of, Hamilton said: "Although you always want to be on pole, you can pass at Magny-Cours, while there is a short pit lane that means there are more strategy options."
Making his F1 debut in this year's championship, Hamilton has caused shockwaves around the world of motor racing with the ease at which he has quickly risen to the very top of the sport.
His recent successes at the Canadian and US races, making him the first rookie driver to secure successive pole positions and victories, mark him out as a possible debut season championship-winner.
Commenting on his chances this season, Hamilton told the BBC that he was looking to achieve consistency and added: "I'm working as hard as I can to stay in the zone for the remainder of the season."
