Esteban Gutierrez said his time with the BMW Sauber team at this week's young drivers' test in Jerez was an unforgettable experience.
The Mexican ended day two of the test on Wednesday fifth on the timesheets and just over a second off the leader's pace and he will spend the final day observing the team at work while Formula Renault 3.5 champion Bertrand Baguette takes the wheel.
"This has been a very special day and it represents a very important step in my career," said Gutierrez.
"I have to say that every minute was very intense and that is what makes the experience so demanding; that is why my physical and mental preparation were so important.
"We are very happy because we were able to meet our goal of getting the most out of this test and enjoy it at the same time."
Gutierrez said it was an honour to represent his country in Jerez this week and he said: "We will never forget this experience and the learning we took out of it, we will remember this day for the rest of our life."
