Ireland are refusing to rule Gordon D'Arcy out of their final Six Nations match against Scotland next weekend despite the centre limping out of Saturday's defeat of Wales.
The 30-year-old Leinster player sustained deep bruising above his left knee during the game, which Ireland went on to win 27-12.
But a statement from the Irish RFU said: "It is being monitored and treated by the Irish medical team and he is not ruled out of selection for the Scotland game at this point."
Keith Earls is expected to be fit for the Scotland match despite sustaining tightened calves, but Munster flanker David Wallace is a doubt after his eye was scratched accidentally.
If Ireland beat Scotland at Croke Park on Saturday they will win their fifth triple crown in seven years.
The Irish are second in the Six Nations table with one game to play two points behind France, who host England in Paris later on Saturday.
