Giggs adapting to central role

Ryan Giggs has admitted he is still not entirely comfortable playing in central midfield, despite a string of winning performances in the position.
Long-term injuries to Paul Scholes and Alan Smith, as well as the acrimonious departure of skipper Roy Keane early on in the season have forced Sir Alex Ferguson to use left-winger Giggs in an unfamiliar role.
Although the Welshman struggled at first, Man Utd have gone on a decent winning run, putting pressure on champions elect Chelsea.
"Our form has been good recently and we are looking to keep that going," Giggs said to Sky Sports.
"Apart from being nutmegged and getting booked in every game, I am enjoying it in central midfield," he joked.
The 32-year-old has forged something of an unlikely partnership with defender John O'Shea, who has also been playing out of position in the centre of the park.
"It is great playing in there with John because we seem to have developed a really good understanding," he said.
Giggs explained that short of stating the obvious, playing in the centre was a completely different proposition to being stuck out on the left.
He said: "It is a lot different to playing on the wing and I am seeing a lot more of the ball. But when you have the type of speed and movement we have in attack, you have plenty of options and it makes your job so much easier."
