Steven Gerrard will return for Liverpool in Sunday's clash with Newcastle United at Anfield.
The skipper, who has missed the Reds' last four games with a groin injury, will be named in the starting line-up against the relegation-threatened Magpies.
Without the midfielder, Liverpool have drawn 4-4 with both Arsenal and Chelsea and beat Hull City 3-1 last Saturday.
Reds boss Rafael Benitez said Gerrard's return will boost his side's title challenge.
"Gerrard is fit - he has been training and hopefully he will be available for the game," the Spaniard said.
"The team were doing well without Stevie, but everyone knows we are stronger with him on the pitch.
"He is a player who can changes games and is very important for us."
Gerrard had suffered the abductor strain while on international duty last month. Benitez has admitted the midfielder will have to be nursed throughout the rest of the season.
Liverpool trail leaders Manchester United by three points, but Sir Alex Ferguson's side have a game-in-hand.
Benitez's men could be six points behind United and overtaken by Chelsea by the time they face Alan Shearers's side.
