Steven Gerrard has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract at Liverpool that is expected to keep him at the club until he retires.
The Reds captain agreed terms on the deal back in April but after returning from a family holiday he has now signed the paperwork, which ties him to his hometown club until the summer of 2013.
His original deal was due to expire in two seasons but during negotiations earlier this year he made no secret of the fact he was keen to commit his long-term future to the club.
This latest contract is thought to be worth around £26 million over its four-year duration - Gerrard's weekly wage of £125,000 a week putting him among the club's highest earners.
To date the England midfielder has made 483 appearances in all competitions in his 12 years with the Liverpool senior side, scoring 120 goals.
He also has 74 caps and has scored 14 goals for the international team.
