More than £350 million has been spent on new players this close season, a record for the Premiership, with Fernando Torres' move from Atletico Madrid to Liverpool the most expensive at £21.5 million.
Ajax's Ryan Babel has also joined the Reds in a £13.5 million deal, but north-west rivals Manchester United have made the most £10 million-plus signings, bringing Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson, as well as - finally - Carlos Tevez, to Old Trafford.
Chelsea have limited their transfer moves to a £13.5 million deal for Florent Malouda and a few free transfers, while Arsenal have said goodbye to some famous faces in Thierry Henry, Freddie Ljungberg and Jose Antonio Reyes on their way to making a tidy profit.
Tottenham, Portsmouth and Sunderland have been among the other major spenders, while Everton, Derby County and Wigan have kept the purse strings tight.
