Noel Gallagher is planning his first solo album and already has a song earmarked for it, he has revealed.
Speaking in an interview with NME magazine, the Oasis guitarist and singer said an album is likely following recent solo concert appearances.
"It's coming," he said. "I've actually got a backlog of songs that are slowly building up."
What is halting the album, however, is the time it is taking Gallagher to write tracks for it.
"The thing about a solo record is the time to do one is between Oasis world tours because you'd have a good couple of years," he explained.
"But it takes me so long to write the songs that eventually I run out of time. I've got a backlog now of about four or five songs which are probably too far in the past as far as the band is concerned, but which could work for my record."
While a solo album may be some time in coming, a follow-up album to 2005's Don't Believe The Truth could be on its way.
"The next one in theory is already written," the 39-year-old said. "It's just a case of sitting down and saying, 'when do we want to do this?'"
Earlier this year Oasis were acknowledged at the Brit awards for their outstanding contribution to music.
