Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has said he does not expect to spend during the January transfer window.
Ferguson says he is happy with the depth of his current squad, although he may opt to bring back some players currently on loan at other clubs to boost their bid to retain the Premier League title.
The Scot says with a healthy squad to choose from he does not envisage needing to add to a side that has just been crowned World Club champions.
He said: "I do not think there will be any January transfers, I am happy with what I have got.
"We took 23 players to Japan and they are substantial players. I would be happy to play any one of them."
Ferguson says he is keen to give the younger members of the United squad a chance to prove themselves rather than investing in talent from outside the football club.
He added: "We are probably going to bring back a couple of young players who have been on loan. That may just give us extra protection."
Players such as Frazier Campbell and Danny Simpson, currently with Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers respectively, could be brought back to the club early from what was expected to be season-long loan deals.
Having returned from Japan, Ferguson is keen to catch the league leaders in the chase for the title.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea dropped points while United were away in Japan, leaving Ferguson's side currently seven points adrift of the Reds and six behind Chelsea - but with two games in hand.
