Sir Alex Ferguson has joined the controversy surrounding top referee Graham Poll.
The Manchester United boss told reporters earlier today he was worried that title rivals Chelsea were getting preferential treatment.
This follows Chelsea's defeat to Tottenham at the weekend, when Poll sent off Blues skipper John Terry and ruled out a goal by Didier Drogba that would have put them 2-0 up.
After the match, Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole and manager Jose Mourinho publicly criticised the Tring official's performance.
Newspaper reports have since claimed that Mourinho emailed referees chief Keith Hackett to request a private meeting.
"Does he [Hackett] ever to go meet Arsene Wenger, or Rafa Benitez?" Sir Alex asked. "Is there preference going out to Chelsea because there was a bad decision against them?
"It seems to be absolutely ludicrous," he added.
Poll, who represented the FA at last summer's World Cup, has since met with further criticism after sending off Everton's James McFadden during their Carling Cup defeat on Wednesday night.
McFadden denies calling Poll a "cheat" after he waved away appeals for 19th minute penalty when Andrew Johnson went down in the box.
