Sir Alex Ferguson has predicted an engrossing and tense game when Manchester United host Liverpool on Sunday.
The match between the local rivals is usually a close affair but the added implications for the Premier League title race give the match an extra importance.
Ferguson is confident his team can thrive in the unique atmosphere created by the rivalry between the two teams and their supporters.
He told Sky Sports news: "It will be a fantastically engrossing game against Liverpool. You can't avoid the intensity of it, the tension, the atmosphere."
United went three points clear at the top of the table thanks to a comprehensive win over Bolton on Wednesday despite making seven changes to the side Ferguson fielded last weekend.
With so many players pushing for selection the Scot admits he is spoilt for choice and that some players will be disappointed to miss out on the clash against the Reds.
But the manager says it is vital that he picks the right combination of players to win the match.
He said: "It's the game that players always want to play in, so there will be some disappointed players tomorrow who are not involved.
"Having the squad I've got, I've just got to pick a team which I think is best to win the match."
Ferguson could have goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar available for selection again after he came through a training session but admitted defender Rio Ferdinand was unlikely to take part in the match on Sunday.
