Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted his side deserved to be knocked out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Leeds United at Old Trafford.
The League One side pulled off the shock of the third round with their victory over the Premier League champions and Ferguson admitted his sides performance had been poor.
"I must admit, I didn't expect that performance," he said.
"If you don't start and the other team does, you're always up against it. Leeds had a far bigger appetite than us for the game.
"You need a a bit of luck and they got it, but they deserved it because they played really well."
The United manager was unhappy with the amount of added time that was given by referee Chris Foy though.
"The referee gave five minutes of injury time and that's an insult to the game, to the players out there," he added.
Jermaine Beckford scored the vital goal for Leeds and manager Simon Grayson singled his striker out for praise.
"It was a good ball from Johnny Howson and nine out of 10 times Jermaine Beckford finishes them off," he said.
"Full credit to the players, who were outstanding. They have been like that all season. Beckford is the new hero now," added Grayson.
