Roger Federer has reached the final of the Monte Carlo Masters after his semi-final opponent Novak Djokovic retired through illness.
The world number one was leading the match 6-3 3-2, before Djokovic was forced to stop after he complained of suffering from dizziness.
"I haven't been feeling well for three days and I've been waking up with a sore throat," said Djokovic.
"I thought it was nothing serious but against the best player in the world you have to be able to run down a lot more balls and need more energy, which I didn't have.
"I was feeling dizzy and I didn't want to risk anything," added Djokovic, who beat Federer on his way to winning the Australian Open in January.
The win for Federer means fans will be treated to another tussle between the Swiss master and the king of clay Rafael Nadal.
Nadal, who beat Nikolay Davydebko 6-3 6-2 in the other semi-final earlier in the day, has won the last three Monte Carlo Masters as well as the last three French Opens.
The Spaniard beat Federer in the last year's Monte Carlo and French Open final, but it was Federer who ended Nadal's remarkable 81 match unbeaten run on clay.
