A spokesman for Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe has told critics of last week's runoff election they can "go hang".
George Charamba's comments came at an African Union (AU) summit in Egypt where leaders have been forced to confront Mr Mugabe's legitimacy on the second day of their summit.
"They can go and hang a thousand times, they have no basis, they have no claim on Zimbabwe politics at all," Mr Charamba said of the international community.
He rejected calls to organise a powersharing deal with the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), as was seen earlier this year in Kenya.

Polish prime minister Lech Kaczynski told the Dziennin newspaper such a move would be "pointless" given the Irish rejection of the treaty in its referendum on the issue last month.
"For the moment, the question of the treaty is pointless," he said. "If one breaks the rule of unanimity one time, it will never exist again."
French president Nicolas Sarkozy said: "Europe worries people and, worse than that, I find, little by little our fellow citizens are asking themselves if after all the national level isn't better equipped to protect them than the European level."

And finally, in sport, Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton has been given a four-month suspended sentence after admitting attacking a former team-mate.
Barton, 25, pleaded guilty to repeatedly punching Ousmane Dabo during a training ground altercation while they were both playing for Manchester City last year.
Yesterday, the England international admitted a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
In handing down the sentence, the judge branded Barton's behaviour as "disgraceful" and told Barton he has "a responsibility to act as a role model" given his profession.
