The Football Association (FA) is to ask El-Hadji Diouf to clarify newspaper claims he was racially abused by Newcastle midfielder Emre in a Premiership fixture last year.
According to the Daily Mirror the Bolton forward was subjected to racial abuse after scoring twice as his side won 2-1 at St James' Park on October 15th.
Turkey international Emre is already facing a personal hearing after denying FA charges of using racially-aggravated language during his team's 3-0 away defeat to Everton at the end of last year.
Emre was angrily confronted by Joseph Yobo, Joleon Lescott and Tim Howard after the Magpies were awarded a penalty.
Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder later admitted his £4 million signing had made "unpleasant" comments, but vigorously denied they were racist.
And the midfielder's agent has said his client will react similarly to the latest allegations.
"This is not a true story. Emre is very upset about the allegations and is confident he will clear his name," said Ahmet Bulut.
Responding to today's Mirror story, an FA spokesperson said: "We will be looking into these allegations and will be contacting El-Hadji Diouf to see if he wishes to provide us with a statement."
