Abba, Jimmy Cliff and Genesis are among acts to be inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it has been announced.
Punk pioneers the Stooges and 60s greats the Hollies will also be inducted at a New York ceremony on March 15th.
Swedish pop act Abba have found new fame since the popularity of the Mamma Mia! stage show and film but, having disbanded in 1983, are unlikely to reunite for a performance at their Hall of Fame induction next year.
Prog-rock act Genesis may also struggle to take to the stage, it has emerged, with drummer and singer Phil Collins having recently undergone back surgery.
"Phil's got a few physical problems at the moment which means I don't think he'd be able to play," keyboardist Tony Banks told Billboard. "We'll face that particular hurdle when we get to it."
The Hall of Fame has also announced that its Ahmet Ertegun award for non-performers - named after the late founder of Atlantic Records - would go to producer and executive David Geffen, the songwriting teams of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and Ellie Greenwich and Jeff Barry, and individual songwriters Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman and Otis Blackwell.
