Alexandra Burke has signed a US recording contract worth $4.2 million (£3 million), her spokeswoman has confirmed.
The X Factor winner has signed with Epic Records following the massive success of her debut single Hallelujah, which made the 20-year-old the first British female solo artist to sell a million copies of a single.
According to the Sun newspaper, she has agreed a five-album deal and will be working with the production team behind Rihanna and Beyonce.
"I'd love to crack the US," Burke said this week.
"After seeing Coldplay take away the awards at the Grammys I was so inspired."
Burke's deal with Epic sees her following in the footsteps of former X Factor winner Leona Lewis, who built on her own US recording contract to become the first British female solo artist to debut at number one in the US album chart.
