A group of aspiring singers on this year's series of the X Factor will be forced to audition again, due to a change in the show's format.
Head judge Simon Cowell has said he is keen for hopefuls to sing in front of a live audience, just as contestants on ITV1's Britain's Got Talent are required to do.
However, a series of auditions have already been held in Glasgow without an audience, meaning singers are likely to be forced to sing again.
"We are still fine tuning our plans, but we aim to be back up in Scotland at the end of the month," an X Factor spokeswoman confirmed.
"We are working out how we are going to do it, but it does look like everyone who auditioned will come and audition again."
In previous series, contestants have sung for Cowell and fellow judges before being sent through to the 'boot camp' stage to perform in front of an audience.
The new audition format - which could mean those who failed their original auditions will be asked to return to try again - is intended to make the talent show "bigger and better than ever", the spokesman claimed.
The X Factor will return to ITV1 in August, with Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue returning as judges.
