The second series of BBC's hit show The Apprentice was settled in dramatic style last night with Michelle Dewberry, a former check-out girl, triumphing in the final.
Sir Alan Sugar, business tycoon and show creator, opted for the pretty 26-year-old after narrowing down his options from 10,000 hopeful applicants.
Last night's final saw Michelle, previously a telecoms consultant, go head-to-head with sales manager Ruth Badger in staging a glitzy event on London Bridge.
And although 'The Badger' performed better on the final task, taking more money and providing a brighter, livelier event, Sir Alan went with his gut instinct and opted for Hull girl Michelle.
She wins a £100,000-per-year job with one of Sir Alan's businesses and admitted afterwards to being absolutely stunned.
"It wasn't until right at the very end when he said I'd won that I believed it," she revealed.
"It shows you don't need to be loud and cocky and 'bolshie' - just work as hard as you can, and hopefully you will get on in life."
Badger, 28, from Wolverhampton, admitted: "I'm genuinely, genuinely happy for Michelle but I'm absolutely gutted that I'm not working for Sir Alan.
"I've never in my career or my life fought for something so much. There's nobody in this country that inspires me more than Sir Alan. Even though I've come second, I absolutely worship the man."
