Soap actor Ricky Whittle has been charged with dangerous driving after an alleged collision involving a photographer in Liverpool.
The Hollyoaks star, who finished second in the most recent series of Strictly Come Dancing, was arrested by Merseyside police last month following an incident between a car and a pedestrian.
Whittle, 29, was leaving a party in the centre of Liverpool when it is alleged he assaulted 34-year-old photographer Steve Farrell.
The actor was questioned by detectives on Merseyside and will appear in court on January 15th.
Whittle walked into a police station and was charged on Wednesday night, Merseyside police said.
A statement explained: "Richard Whittle, 29, of Billinge, Wigan, Greater Manchester, will appear before Liverpool City Magistrates on January 15th charged with one count of dangerous driving following an incident on November 27th."
