Tattoo king Robbie Williams is no stranger to needles, but he is unlikely to have been all that comfortable having two 14-inch needles stuck into his arms as part of TV stunt.
The former Take That singer took part in one of hypnotist Derren Brown's tricks as part of his Trick of the Mind television series.
Robbie was skewered while bizarrely chanting Three Blind Mice to remain in a trance-like state and was also chained in a pose reminiscent of the crucifixion.
The 32-year-old popstar apparently did not feel any pain during the trick but was looking "quite sick and troubled" by the end.
The Channel 4 show, due to be broadcast on Easter Sunday, is likely to cause uproar among religious viewers.
But Brown will be used to a bit of controversy, having already been on the wrong end of formal complaints by the GMB trade union over his last show, The Heist.
In it, the illusionist hypnotised a group of businessmen and persuaded them to conduct what they believed was a real armed robbery.
