Emmy-winning actor Rip Torn has been bailed after allegedly breaking into a bank with a loaded weapon while drunk.
The Dodgeball star was detained on Friday having been discovered inside the Litchfield Bancorp bank in Connecticut.
The actor, born Elmore Rual Torn in 1931, was charged with burglary and possession of a firearm without a permit.
He did not enter a plea and has been released on $100,000 (£62,688) bail.
Torn is also expected to enter a rehabilitation facility for alcohol abuse, his attorney explained.
An Oscar nominee in 1994 for Cross Creek, the Men in Black actor was arrested in 2004 for refusing a breathalyser test having crashed his car in New York.
He received a 90-driving ban in 2006 after another collision and was given probation and admission to an alcohol education programme after a drink-driving case in Connecticut last year.
According to celebrity website TMZ.com, the chief executive of Litchfield Bancorp believes Torn had not been intending to rob the bank and instead mistakenly believed he was in his own house.
