Big Brother contestant Nikki Grahame has admitted to working for an online escort agency in the months before she joined the show, and that her first-ever client was troubled drug-addict rocker Pete Doherty.

The 24-year-old came fifth in Friday's BB finale, but her relationship with overall winner Pete Bennett will be put in question following her interview with the News of the World.

She told the Sunday tabloid that she signed up to an upmarket agency after being 'talent-spotted' in a London club, and that Doherty, one of three clients, paid her £500 for her company, although Nikki insisted all he did was talk to her and play his guitar.

"Yes, I worked as an escort girl and it is something I'm incredibly ashamed about," she said.

"I made a big, big mistake, one I will regret for the rest of my life. The only consolation I have is that I didn't have sex with any of the clients."

Almost eight million people saw Pete be the last to leave the BB house on Friday, but they also would have witnessed a distraught Nikki be roundly booed by the crowd, with her exit interview with Davina McCall cancelled as a result.

Nikki, desperate to be reunited with love of her life Pete, had controversially returned to the house after originally being voted out earlier in the show.

In today's News of the World interview, Nikki explained that she wanted to marry the 24-year-old.
