Stand-up comedian Michael McIntyre will take his Comedy Roadshow around the UK for a second series, it has been confirmed.
The announcement of a second series comes amid speculation that McIntyre has signed a 'golden handcuffs' deal with the BBC worth a reported £500,000.
A BBC spokeswoman would not comment on the rumours but said the broadcaster had a "great relationship" with the 33-year-old.
She added the corporation was "absolutely delighted to continue working with Michael" and said the Comedy Roadshow had been "such a big hit for us".
It is thought that McIntyre, who will not work for any other channels, could develop other programmes as well as the Comedy Roadshow, which in its first series attracted audiences of more than five million viewers.
The stand-up, whose second live DVD Hello Wembley is the fastest selling stand-up release ever in the UK, told inthenews.co.uk last year that regular performing is vital.
"The match fitness is enormously important," he explained.
"If you have two or three months off, or even two or three weeks, you don't really know what to do in front of an audience.
"But it becomes so second nature that even when I think I'm not having a great gig, I'm doing a lot that's good because I'm onstage every night and the confidence is there. I can impersonate me, I can do an impression of when I'm on form, even when I'm off."
