Yvonne De Carlo, the actress best known for her role as matriarch Lily Munster, has died at the age of 84.
As part of a prolific television and film career, she was also involved in the major film hit The Ten Commandments, starring as Sephora.
De Carlo was also a hit on Broadway after she appeared as Carlotta Campion in the Stephen Sondheim musical Follies.
But her most popular role was in the Munsters series, where she starred as the mother figure in the Munster family alongside the characters Frankenstein's monster and Dracula.
The series resulted in the movies Munster Go Home! and The Munsters' Revenge, both of which she appeared in.
Her long-term friend and television producer Kevin Burns said: "She was the vampire mom to millions of baby boomers.
"But it would be a shame if that's the only way she is remembered. She was also one of the biggest beauty queens of the '40s and '50s."
She died on January 8th of natural causes at the Motion Picture and Television Fund's Retirement Home in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, and is survived by two children.
