Girl group Miss Frank have become the third act voted off the live stage of The X Factor, it has been announced.

The three-piece found themselves in the bottom two along with bookies' favourite Danyl Johnson and were sent packing following a sing-off.

With Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell each casting their vote for the act in their respective categories, it was left to Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole to decide the fates of Miss Frank and Danyl.

Minogue chose to save Danyl before Cole sent the vote to deadlock by saving Miss Frank, after saying she could not understand the public's decision-making.

With the deadlock vote based on the act who had received the lowest amounts of votes from the public this weekend, Miss Frank became the third act to leave the 2009 series.

Their departure means Louis Walsh now has just one act left in the competition - controversial Irish duo John and Edward.
