Comedian Bradley Walsh has been offered a bumper million pound contract to stay on for another year at Coronation Street.
The cheeky TV star has become a soap star after joining the Street in 2004 as Mike Baldwin's son Danny, after a successful comedy and presenting career.
The deal is a golden-handcuff agreement which will keep Walsh exclusively at ITV until 2007 and he is set to appear in a number of other roles in dramas for the channel.
Simon Shaps, from ITV, said: "Bradley has an amazing versatility and we're excited about working with him across drama and entertainment."
The 45-year-old may return to his presenting roots by fronting his own early evening chat show in place of the departed Paul O'Grady.
